Coastal Behavioral Health offers broad Psychiatric Treatment and Medical Services that include therapeutic interventions, medication, medical assessment and assistance with outpatient services. Our medical staff includes certified mental health nurses, geriatric certified nurses, certified addiction counselors and physicians specializing in the treatment of substance abuse.

We assess the needs of each individual and tailor a program to best treat his or her particular problem. Our skilled mental health professionals oversee every step of the treatment planning process from the day of admission to the day of discharge. So patients’ needs are met, consistently, every day they are in our care.

We are also proud to be the first and only facility in this area to use a Medication Dispensing Machine (MDM) to replace outdated bubble packs. This enables us to track all medication for each patient as well as maintain the latest safety procedures when administering medicine.

Important components of our programs include:

• Aftercare Planning – Our masters-level therapists work with the patient and his or her loved ones to ensure patients have a continuing care plan upon discharge. Follow-up appointments are made with counselors or physicians in a patient’s hometown, so that each individual can continue recovery once he or she leaves us.

• Substance Abuse Education – Our substance abuse specialists provide this educational component of our programming to teach patients about addictive diseases and help them learn to live without mood-altering substances. We focus on relapse prevention and concentrate on getting the patient connected with resources in their community to help them strengthen their own recovery.
