Addictive Disease Services
Addiction to drugs or alcohol can take on many forms and display numerous signs and symptoms. If left untreated, the negative effects associated with this progressive disease will only worsen and become exponentially more serious.
In all cases, family members should be alert to early signs of drug and alcohol addiction and abuse before it escalates and becomes critical. As the addiction becomes more serious, an increase in symptoms and warning signs will appear. Preemptive action and vigilance is of the utmost importance in ensuring that this disease is kept under control, beginning with knowing your loved one’s family history of substance abuse as well as mental health disorders. However, every case of addiction is unique and requires special attention by a trained professional.
Coastal Harbor Behavioral Health has a variety of effective therapies that can be combined to meet the unique needs of each patient. All therapies are available as needed, and are designed to work in coordination as a comprehensive program to manage addiction. In addition, our trained, knowledgeable staff will educate patients on techniques and coping mechanisms for managing their addiction as well as the issues related to their addictions. Patients will learn valuable recovery tools including how to curb cravings and foster healthier relationships with others.
If you or someone you love is suffering from addiction and requires intense detox, our Medically Supervised Detoxification takes an average 72 to 96 hours. Each patient receives round-the-clock attention and nurse assessments every 4 hours. We monitor detoxification levels such as COWA (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Assessment scale) to ensure successful and safe detoxification.
28-Day Rehabilitation for Active Duty MilitaryNew patients, as well as relapsed users, enter our 28-day rehabilitation program which features one-on-one therapy during detoxification, plus Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings that are held right here at our facility. In addition, our program includes a strong emphasis on patient education. We help patients learn the triggers and physical states of addiction so they can fully recognize and understand their disease.
