Developmental Program
The Developmental Program of Coastal Harbor Treatment Center is designed to meet the specific developmental needs of adolescents between the ages of 7 to 17, and their families. The DD program offers a wide range of services to children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders and learning challenges. The services focus on positive alternatives to the traditional residential program by providing quality education, social skills training, adaptive life skills, behavior modification, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy to meet their developmental challenges.
Program Methodology
The treatment design of the DD program supports the values of safety, daily living skills, respect, honesty, self-management, accountability, responsibility, learning, and growth. The residents are taught:
To use healthy means of verbal and nonverbal expression of feelings,
To demonstrate respect for self and others;
To maintain good mental and physical health habits,
To be honest, and
To accept responsibility for their behavior while supporting their peers in doing the same.
