New Horizons Intensive Residential Program

The New Horizons Program of Coastal Harbor Treatment Center is designed to meet the specific needs of developmentally delayed youth between the ages of 11 to 17. The program offers a wide range of services to children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders and learning challenges. The services focus on positive alternatives to the traditional residential program. We do this by providing quality education, social skills training, adaptive life skills, behavior modification, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy in an effort to meet their developmental challenges.

Program Methodology

The treatment design of the New Horizons program supports the values of safety, daily living skills, respect, honesty, self-management, accountability, responsibility, learning, and growth. The residents are taught:

  • To use healthy means of verbal and nonverbal expression of feelings,

  • To demonstrate respect for self and others;

  • To maintain good mental and physical health habits,
